Mixed Media Flower Painting by Keri Sallee

LouAnn Mixed Media

Good morning, everyone!  I have another funky mixed media project created by design team member Keri Sallee to share with you 🙂

Keri used some scrap lumber as the base for her mixed media painting, and added a multitude of layers to create this beauty…

I’m not going to go through all of the steps Keri took because she has put together a fantastic step-by-step tutorial on her blog HERE.  She did prepare the lumber using gesso, then layered some 7 Gypsies “Paris” tissue paper, paint, stamped images, stenciled texture paste, the flowers (of course), and finally paint splatters.

Here’s a close up of the flowers:

Keri used the Vintage Labels Cotton Ribbon (#RB053-N) to create the petals of the flowers.  She then layered Silver Flower Metal Filigree Embellishments (#161-P) and (#168-P) for the flower centers.  You can also see that she bent and shaped a Silver Butterfly Metal Filigree Embellishment (#091-P) to the left of the tallest flower.

Finally, Keri cut apart a Copper Square Metal Filigree Embellishment (#068-C) to create the leaves of the flowers:

I hope you enjoyed seeing this cheerful work of art created by our newest design team member.  Again, if you’d like a detailed step-by-step tutorial along with great pictures, please hop on over to Keri’s blog and let her know that I sent you there 😉  Thanks a bunch for stopping by today…have a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll chat at you tomorrow with another tutorial 😉  Cheers!
