Old World Druid’s Journal by Marina Wilson

LouAnn Mini Albums, Mixed Media

Good morning, everyone!  I hope you all had a great extended weekend!  Today, I have some good news and some bad news…I’ll start with the bad news 🙁

You may have already seen the notice if you’ve browsed the ButterBeeScraps shop…Canada Post and its employees have been trying to negotiate a contract for over 6 months.  Well, last night Canada Post issued a 72 hour notice before locking its employees out 🙁  So, what does this mean for ButterBeeScraps?  Well…any orders placed after 12:00pm PST today (July 5th) will not be shipped unless I can find a suitable alternate shipping method.  This may result in changes in shipping rates, but will most certainly result in shipping delays of several days (or more) of orders placed after the deadline listed above.  I know…I am very sad, too 🙁  I will continue to leave updates on the shop page.

Now onto the good news…I think we all need it, don’t you?  …design team member, Marina Wilson, created another amazing project…an Old World Druid’s journal using cereal boxes:

Marina started by hand sculpting that beautiful Celtic tree on the front cover.  She then added several layers of paint to create that weathered leather look:

Once the paint was dry, Marina started adding ButterBeeScraps metal bits and glass rhinestones.  She added filigrees onto the two border strips along the top and bottom of the journal cover, and placed a couple on each side of the Celtic tree.  …and how about that closure?!?!

I know, I know…you’re wondering where she got all these goodies ‘cuz you can’t find them in the shop, right?  Well, I offered all of my VIP Club members the opportunity to purchase a sample pack of several of the new products that will be released later this month…and Marina jumped on that opportunity 🙂

If you’re wanting to join the club and get in on this and other perks, you can join by filling out the form at the bottom of this blog post 🙂  …and if you’re interested in getting your paws on one of these sample packs yourself, I have a few left that are available for purchase right HERE 🙂

I hope you liked Marina’s project as much as me.  If you’d like a closer look at the journal, you can hop on over to her YouTube channel and watch the video she has uploaded there.  Thanks for popping by today.  Cheers!
